Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) is one of those games that Star Wars fans have thoroughly embraced as part of the universe. When it was ported to iOS, the game retained its original content and was just like playing on a desktop computer, except for the oddity of touch-based movements. This week, Aspyr Media gave the app a major update to now supports MFi controllers. So, that strange sensation of touching and swiping to move won’t take getting used to. Now, you’ll just have to get used to using a D-pad to control things.

Currently, the only controller on the market that is iPad compatible is the SteelSeries Stratus. However, Mad Catz will launch their Bluetooth enabled C.T.R.L.i this April and MOGA teased an upcoming controller that we are hoping can be used with the iPad, as well.
In addition to MFi controller support, KOTOR now includes iCloud support. That means, you can start playing your game on the iPad (with your MFi controller) and pick up where you left off on your iPhone when you save to iCloud. No more playing multiple games, creating alternate timelines, and ultimately having different endings for both games.
The best part about this big update is that KOTOR is on sale for half off for a short period of time. You can get this universal game for only $4.99 in the App Store today.
